Dr. Mark F. Deutsch, MD, FACS, is a Sandy Springs–based, double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with more than three decades of experience in cosmetic surgery, cancer reconstruction, and complex breast reconstruction. As the founder and medical director of Perimeter Plastic Surgery, he provides individualized surgical and nonsurgical care for the breasts, body, and face. His practice emphasizes patient education, careful procedure selection, accredited surgical facilities, qualified anesthesia support, privacy, and attentive follow-up. He has also been recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for multiple consecutive years.
Dr. Deutsch earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1989. He subsequently completed a general surgery residency at Louisiana State University Medical Center and Charity Hospital in New Orleans. After developing a strong foundation in general and reconstructive surgery, he completed his plastic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He then pursued an additional fellowship in cancer reconstruction and microsurgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where his training included reconstruction following breast, head, and neck cancer treatment.
He is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Aesthetic Society. Dr. Deutsch has also lectured and contributed to professional discussions concerning breast-cancer reconstruction and related surgical techniques. His publicly listed hospital affiliations include Northside Hospital Atlanta, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Northside Hospital Forsyth, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Piedmont Henry Hospital, City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center–Atlanta, and Southern Regional Medical Center.
A significant part of Dr. Deutsch’s professional background is devoted to breast reconstruction for patients affected by cancer. His advanced training includes microsurgical and autologous-tissue techniques such as DIEP-flap reconstruction, which uses a patient’s abdominal tissue to reconstruct the breast while preserving the abdominal muscle. His practice also provides implant-based reconstruction, tissue-expander reconstruction, TRAM-flap procedures, latissimus-flap reconstruction, breast revision, and surgery intended to improve breast symmetry. This combination of cosmetic and reconstructive experience allows him to evaluate breast shape, proportion, tissue quality, previous surgery, medical history, and long-term reconstructive requirements when developing an individualized treatment plan.
Dr. Deutsch’s consultation philosophy focuses on understanding each patient’s goals while providing practical information about procedure options, incisions, recovery, limitations, potential risks, and anticipated outcomes. His practice describes customized preoperative and postoperative care as central to the patient experience. Rather than approaching cosmetic surgery as a standardized service, treatment recommendations are developed around the patient’s anatomy, overall health, lifestyle, and personal priorities. This measured approach is especially valuable for operations such as breast revision, mommy makeover, tummy tuck, facelift, and post-weight-loss body contouring, where surgical planning, scar placement, proportion, safety, and recovery support can substantially influence the patient’s experience.
Services offered include breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, breast revision, breast reconstruction, DIEP-flap reconstruction, TRAM-flap reconstruction, latissimus-flap reconstruction, tissue-expander reconstruction, nipple and areola correction, gynecomastia surgery, tummy tuck, mini tummy tuck, mommy makeover, liposuction, arm lift, thigh lift, buttock lift, post-weight-loss body contouring, facelift, neck lift, brow lift, eyelid surgery, ear reshaping, earlobe repair, Botox® treatments, injectable fillers, nonsurgical facial rejuvenation, and professional skincare.
