Dr. Jon Kurkjian, MD, is a Fort Worth–based, board-certified plastic surgeon known for aesthetic surgery of the face, nose, breasts, and body. At Kurkjian Plastic Surgery + Aesthetics, he provides highly individualized surgical and nonsurgical care guided by detailed consultation, anatomical assessment, safety, and natural-looking refinement. His professional background combines distinguished academic achievement, advanced plastic-surgery residency training, a dedicated aesthetic-surgery fellowship, published clinical research, and continued participation in plastic-surgery education.
Dr. Kurkjian graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology, earning a 4.0 grade-point average and induction into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, graduating in the top three percent of his class and earning election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During medical school, he participated in laboratory and clinical research involving cosmetic lasers, liposuction, abdominoplasty, and DIEP and TRAM flap breast reconstruction.
Following medical school, Dr. Kurkjian completed his plastic-surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he trained in both aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. His residency research addressed rhinoplasty, dermal fillers, nonsurgical aesthetic medicine, brow-lift surgery, liposuction, and abdominoplasty. He received a resident teaching award from the UT Southwestern medical-student class and was selected by the faculty to serve as administrative chief resident in the Department of Plastic Surgery. He subsequently completed an additional year devoted exclusively to cosmetic surgery through the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship in New York City, training with prominent aesthetic surgeons and New York University faculty members.
Dr. Kurkjian has served as a clinical instructor of plastic surgery at UT Southwestern, participating in the education of plastic-surgery residents and fellows. He has authored and co-authored scientific publications and textbook chapters addressing nasal-tip positioning, septal extension grafts, soft-tissue fillers in rhinoplasty, the alar-columellar relationship, migraine-surgery anatomy, and other subjects relevant to aesthetic plastic surgery. He also serves as Rhinoplasty Section Editor for Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Forum and is professionally affiliated with The Aesthetic Society. These academic and editorial activities reflect an ongoing engagement with peer-reviewed evidence, surgical education, and evolving techniques in aesthetic medicine.
His practice places particular emphasis on rhinoplasty, revision rhinoplasty, ultrasonic rhinoplasty, deep-plane facelift surgery, neck lift, facial rejuvenation, breast enhancement, and body contouring. Treatment planning is based on the patient’s anatomy, lifestyle, expectations, and long-term goals rather than a uniform approach. The practice emphasizes open communication, careful consideration of available options, and realistic guidance from consultation through postoperative recovery. VECTRA® three-dimensional imaging may be incorporated into selected consultations to help patients better understand possible changes in proportion and contour. Surgical procedures may be performed at the practice’s on-site, accredited ambulatory surgery facility, subject to individual medical assessment and procedural requirements.
Services offered include primary and revision rhinoplasty, teenage rhinoplasty, ultrasonic rhinoplasty, liquid rhinoplasty, deep-plane facelift, mini facelift, neck lift, eyelid surgery, brow lift, chin augmentation, facial fat transfer, buccal-fat removal, lip lift, breast augmentation, breast lift, breast lift with implants, breast reduction, tummy tuck, mini abdominoplasty, mommy makeover, liposuction, arm lift, injectable treatments, dermal fillers, medical-grade skincare, microneedling, dermaplaning, BroadBand Light treatments, HALO® laser treatments, and individualized nonsurgical facial rejuvenation.
