Dr. George T. Moynihan, MD, is a Chicago-based, double-board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon recognized for his work in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the face, nose, eyes, and neck. As the founder and medical director of Gold Coast Plastic Surgery, he provides individualized surgical and nonsurgical care with an emphasis on facial harmony, patient safety, privacy, and natural-looking refinement. His professional background combines specialized head-and-neck surgical training, academic appointments, clinical research, and more than two decades of experience in facial aesthetic surgery.
Dr. Moynihan graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University before earning his medical degree cum laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed a general-surgery internship followed by a residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. He subsequently completed an American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship under Dr. Daniel E. Rousso in Birmingham, Alabama. His academic record includes first-place recognition in the Lederer-Pierce Research Competition for work involving oral squamous-cell carcinoma genomic profiles and the Peter Girgis Research Award. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Phi Beta Kappa and received an American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery travel grant.
